Linnea Deeds, Director of Educational Services

Linnea Deeds brings over 23 years of international trade experience as a Licensed Customs Broker, Certified US Export  Compliance Officer, Certified Customs Specialist, and Trade Compliance Specialist. As the Director of Educational Services, she will be developing educational opportunities for various companies and organizations. She will also support the operational aspect of BCG. Her most recent tenure in the business was with a well-known apparel and retail importer, where she performed in-depth analysis of all trade compliance issues, including ACE, FDA, and FWS regulations. She is also very experienced with free trade agreements, ISA audits, root cause analysis, and corrective action plan implementation. Her experience includes extensive work with large classification projects including ECCN, USML, HTSUS and HTSCA and leveraging data to complete projects efficiently. Linnea’s export experience includes export license application and management, deemed export and restricted party screenings.

She is adept at developing strategies to resolve complex compliance issues for both domestic and international entities.

Over the years, Linnea has saved companies millions of dollars in Customs fines/penalties and has succeeded in developing methods and approaches that minimized duty outlays while complying with Customs regulations. She also has significant experience in establishing, auditing and maintaining vendor compliance programs.

A born-teacher, Linnea has developed and presented training on various trade-related topics throughout her various positions.

Linnea was educated at the Edinburgh Business School, in Edinburgh Scotland, and received her Certificates in International Trade, Accounting, and Economics. She also has a B.A. in Journalism and History/Political Science from Culver-Stockton College in Canton, MO.
