Ismael Ferreira leverages more than 25 years of experience in strategic business planning for startup companies in Brazil.  Ismael is an Executive Director at M&BA Strategy – Marketing and Business Administration in Sao Paulo, Brazil.  He focuses his practice on creating market entry strategies to assist foreign companies in establishing operations in Brazil.  He also provides consulting advice to foreign companies on establishing initial business relationships in Brazil in order to provide a smooth market entry.  His expertise in market research and management for new companies was honed by working at major international companies.

Career Highlights

Prior to his current employment, Ismael was the General Manager for Mary Kay’s operations in Brazil where he worked for 11 years.  He focused his work at Mary Kay Brazil in overseeing the startup of its now successful Brazilian subsidiary by managing the business operation plan, and all aspects such as the administrative, financial and import issues of the business.  He played a vital role in the company’s growth using his business acumen in integrating new companies into the local market.

Previously, he served as the Controller at Avon Cosmetics in Brazil for 11 years where he managed various aspects of this startup joint venture, including the administrative, financial, business operations, imports and logistics needs.  In addition, Ismael worked in financial advisory services at renowned international entities such as Mercedes Benz, Itau Bank and Bradesco Bank.


In addition to Ismael’s business operations experience, he also served on the board of ABEVD – Brazilian Association of Direct Sales.  In this capacity he acted as a liaison in negotiations with Brazilian regulatory agencies to encourage foreign company development in Brazil.  Ismael is an invaluable asset to companies seeking to establish operations in Brazil, and can readily advise such companies on the most productive methods of market research and effective strategies to structure the financial, administrative and international trade systems for startup businesses.


Ismael graduated with a bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering and also possesses a post graduate diploma in Business Administration and Information Systems.  He is fluent in English and Spanish.  He is a Board Member of IBGC (Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance) and Merger and Acquisition specialist at FGV (Getulio Vargas University).
