Carol Giles has over 30 years of aviation maintenance experience in government and industry. Carol retired from the Federal Aviation Administration as a senior executive and Manager of the Aircraft Maintenance Division where she led an organization responsible for developing regulations and standards for air carriers, maintenance facilities, general aviation, maintenance technicians and designees.
Under Ms. Giles’s leadership, Carol E. Giles & Associates, Inc., has provided regulatory compliance services to major airlines, and has teamed with other associates to conduct successful renewal certifications for U.S. maintenance facilities internationally.
Ms. Giles serves as the regulatory liaison for a leading organization representing aviation service businesses.
Ms. Giles writes the Maintenance Perspective column published quarterly in National Air Transportation Association’s Aviation Business Journal and has developed a series of best practices documents for the aviation maintenance industry.
Ms. Giles is currently working with an industry/government advisory panel to provide research and technical assistance concerning consistent and standard application of regulations/policy regarding safety oversight and approvals. Carol also holds an FAA mechanic certificate with an Airframe and Powerplant rating and Private Pilot certificate.
